Meet Our Team

Jonathan is a Licensed Landscape Architect (LLA) in the state of Michigan and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture in 2006. After graduation, he worked in Wheaton, IL providing landscape architecture and land planning services for a variety of clients in the greater Chicago area. In 2011 Jonathan started Elements Studio, Inc. in the Lansing area.

There are few things in life that give Jonathan as much joy and excitement as designing landscapes. He believes that landscapes contribute socially, environmentally, and economically to the value of our daily lives. Jonathan is continually inspired by the opportunity to add these benefits to his client’s businesses and homes.

Jonathan enjoys being outside whenever possible. From exploring botanical gardens to hiking in the wilderness, he is always carefully examining his surroundings and looking for ways to allow his findings to inspire designs. Plants are particularly fascinating to Jonathan. Their forms, colors, and textures are dynamic – constantly changing the look and feel of the outdoor environment.

As a Christian business owner, Jonathan is committed to serving God through serving his clients, treating them as he would like to be treated.

Kristin Faasse is a Licensed Landscape Architect (LLA) in the state of Michigan and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture in 2009. Kristin joined the Elements Studio team in the spring of 2016. She is especially creative at the conceptual stage of design. She enjoys the challenge of piecing together the puzzle of our clients’ program elements and site goals to create a space that functions well for end users and is beautifully compelling. Whether she is working on a Photoshop rendering or a SketchUp model, she is skilled at creating presentation graphics that clearly convey the design story.

Kristin’s positive attitude is contagious. She makes even the most mundane tasks fun for herself and the rest of the team. She loves to laugh and keeps the atmosphere light in the office. Kristin is also committed to serving God in both her professional and her personal life.
