The View on Collins

Luxury Apartment Outdoor Living

Elements Studio designed the outdoor amenities for the luxury apartments at The View on Collins. At the heart of the community lies a beautiful pool complete with tanning ledges and fountains that create a relaxing atmosphere. At the outset of the project, the owner let us know that they wanted prospective residents to see the pool from the leasing office. This view clearly communicates the luxury apartment living experience. As we moved through the design process, we made sure to celebrate, not only the view of the courtyard, but also the experience of entering the courtyard from the leasing office. Four columnar trees that mark the path between the leasing office and the pool celebrate the entrance to the pool.

The Pool: Luxury at a Glance

Planting beds within the pool deck define the intimate seating areas around the pool. Residents enjoy relaxing in these seating vignettes while they listen to the splash of moving water. Arching water fountains shoot into the pool from the pool deck at the end view of the pathway from the leasing office. Meanwhile, bubbling jets on the tanning ledges create a gentle splash between the lounge chairs at either end of the pool.

Courtyard Amenities

Nearby modern outdoor grilling areas feature dining tables and televisions for friends and family to gather and socialize. Residents can also unwind by the gas fire pits which offer a cozy spot to relax in the evenings. With an electronic ignition and an auto shut-off, the fire pits are safe and easy for residents to use. Limestone fines gravel around the fire pits crunch under foot, adding a modern rustic aesthetic to the outdoor space. Residents use the adjacent open lawn for playing yard games and throwing a ball or a frisbee.

The Dog Park

Additionally, an enclosed dog park ensures that pets have a safe space to play and exercise. The enclosed vestibule area provides a safe space for dogs to enter and exit without other dogs inadvertently escaping. These outdoor amenities offer residents a distinctive living experience at the luxury apartments on Collins Rd.

The Entrance Experience

Elements Studio designed the entrance monument sign to replicate forms and materials from other built elements of the site. The beam across the top of the monument reflects the overhanging roof of the apartment buildings with its 45° support arms. The building’s accent brick is repeated at the base of the monument. Also, the sign panel duplicates the shiplap styling that is used on the TV walls of the grilling pergolas in the courtyard. Thoughtful, floriferous landscape plants along Collins Rd. give an impactful first impression for prospective residents and a “Welcome back home!” to residents.

As the Senior Project Manager for The View on Collins, I had the privilege of working with Elements Studio for the landscaping and hardscaping of this high-end apartment complex. Elements was able to find a way to incorporate every expectation the owner had for high end design, married it with budget feasibility, and worked with us as the CM for constructability. Working with Elements was/is a breath of fresh air. Their dedication to open, transparent communication and budget transparency is unprecedented. They will deliver what they say they will deliver, when they say they will deliver it. Do yourselves a favor and hire Elements Studio – it’s a decision you will never regret.
