First National Bank of America began a building-wide renovation to their East Lansing headquarters in early 2015. The landscape redesign of the existing office building completes the bank’s fresh, modern exterior.
With the existing office building landscape redesign, the owner emphasized using the landscape to create a context in which the building becomes the focal point. The previous landscape had hidden the building, so it was essential to make the most of this opportunity to improve the building’s visibility.
Working with the bank’s architect, we selected plants that will keep the views open to and from the building. By using the arching form of the re-designed port-cochère in the planting bed edges, we reinforced the simple clean lines of the building’s architecture. We also highlighted the entrances with specially designed annual planter combinations.
The complete building renovation, including the landscape redesign, gives the bank a fresh new look and feel that is enjoyed by employees, customers and the community as a whole.
Elements Studio provided landscape design services for our headquarters in East Lansing, MI. We worked with Jonathan Faasse on the project and were very pleased with his design. He also worked with us through the contractor selection and installation to be sure we were satisfied with the end product. Excellent firm.
